Yes we finally finished the video of Jack White the Vietnam veteran that I interviewed a long time ago. It took forever to edit and my friend and I tried our best at editing it so please don’t be too critical of it. We are so glad it finally got done it only took a few months, oh well. From filming and editing this video I learned what to do and what not to do when interviewing people:
1. And the most important, DO NOT talk or mhmmm or wow or oh or yeah in between what the other person says. I understand it is polite to look and sound interested in what they are saying, but editing out all of those yeahs and ohs was the biggest, most frustrating pain. Head nods and smiles is all it takes.
2. Try not to get in the way of the shot. My hand ended up being in one whole take and we couldn’t use that footage.
3. Organize the separate clips in order to make life easier as you go along editing it
And yes that was the first time I have edited a video, it was not the best experience but we got it done and now have the final product. Thanks again to Jack White for talking with us! Enjoy and have a great day!
